Odd Install Behavior - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

I'm attempting to install RH9 on the following system: MSI K7N2 motherboard (nforce chipset) 1 60 GB Maxtor HD (Primary) 1 40 GB Western Digital HD (Secondary) Prolink GeForce FX 5600 Video card 512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM AMD XP 2600+ Processor. USB Mouse PS2 Keyboard Anaconda starts, probes the devices, and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. The cursor just sits there blinking. Any ideas on what might be causing this to happen, or how to get around it? Thanks. Tom...

I'm attempting to install RH9 on the following system:

    MSI K7N2 motherboard (nforce chipset)
1 60 GB Maxtor HD (Primary)
1 40 GB Western Digital HD (Secondary)
Prolink GeForce FX 5600 Video card
    512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM
    AMD XP 2600+ Processor.
    USB Mouse
    PS2 Keyboard

Anaconda starts, probes the devices, and then the screen goes black and
nothing happens. The cursor just sits there blinking.

Any ideas on what might be causing this to happen, or how to get around
    it?

    Thanks.

Is it the anaconda or the kernel? If it's the former, then try what's
going on in the other consoles, by doing Alt+Control+[F1-F7]. If it's
the latter, paste the last few lines of what you see?

You can also try various boot parm to the kernel.

    apm=off
    nodma
    skipddc
    text

in combination or separate. Check out what these mean and for more
    options,
