Offline Newsreader for OSX - Mac Portable

OK, so I've finally decided to get a 15" PowerBook, and since it'll be my first OSX Mac I'll need a newsreader. I'm on a 56k dialup so it'll have to be an offline newsreader, one that'll download headers and bodies for offline reading. What OSX newsreaders are suitable? Thanks, -- Peter...

    Thanks to both who replied.

I can but try both out and see which works best for me.

I've found thoth OK, the trial version is not very good for
synchronizing busy newsgroups a but the paid for version works OK for
    me.

I can't vouch for the dial-up connectivity but HogWasher has Halime beaten
all ends up. It does seem to be a very efficient user of bandwidth -
messages, subjectively, download outrageously fast on HogWasher.

out to find the one that suits me best.

NewsHopper is a great newsreader! Anyone know how Laurent is doing?

Nevertheless, the first newsreader you (the OP) should be using
is http://groups.google.com - where he can search the archives
and see that the "what newsreader" discussion is started up again
    afresh about every three days.

Read some of what's been discussed before. Seriously.

You're quite right, and I do apologise.

My concern was that so many people are on broadband 24/7 that the concept
of reading news offline has faded from many users conciousness.
