I'm using Acrobat 6 std and listenin' to Andy Williams (yeah, you may deduce a lot from this).
An' I'm thinkin':

Everyone is creating pdf files. That's good, baby that's good.
Everyone is creating huuuuge pdf files. Baby that's not that good.
Acrobat can compress them, by a factor of 10, 20, perhaps 50. Baby, that's simply EXCITIN'!

Yeah, it's 4 pm an' I'm doin' it since 8 am, one-by-one, clickin' an' clickin' an' waitin and waitin'.
Baby, is that why you don't pay interest to me? To Yeredelum with Adobe!
An' an ol' cigar tells me that in his time this would have been so easy as typing

find . -name \*pdf | xargs -0 acrobat -i reduce

and he could have come back to pay attention to me. Baby, why's everybody abandoning
things that work sooo well? Baby, that's not good.
