Old shockwave games not working
Hi. I have a bunch of older shockwave games that worked fine a few months ago
and now are having problems loading. I opened a different browser and they
worked so I'm thinking that that browser had an older version of the shockwave
pluggin and the other browser had the latest version. Has anyone else had the
problem of their older shockwave games not working with the latest pluggin.
Also is there a place to download older pluggin version so I can test out this
theory?

Re: Old shockwave games not working
Older content should in fact play properly under the new player, we take
specific steps to ensure that during each release cycle. When I've heard this
sort of thing reported before (content works in version N and fails in version
M - where N > M as well as cases where N < M) it seems the best spot to start
looking is at what Xtras are needed and which ones are present on the problem
machine. In addition keep an eye out for things like embedded font usage and/or
setPref usage on user restricted machines in older players (prior to v10 we
wrote that data to system folders and restricted users are often prevented from
doing that - in v10 we write to a user-specific directory), there's more, but
first it seems you need to test with older players so...

Installers for a variety of previous releases. I hope this info helps, keep us
posted if you need further assistance (post up additional test/result details
if you do need further help, things like what specifically is "not working",
how is it behaving, platforms and browsers tested, player versions affected,
etc.).
