Olympus C-3030z losing settings - Photography

My camera is about three years old and all of a sudden it started losing all its settings every time I turn it off. That includes date/time, file name, resolution preferences, etc. Its like a PC having its CMOS reset. I looked for a "CMOS battery" on my camera but came up empty. Is there anything I can do short of a factory repair?...

As far as I can tell, none of the C series Olympus have such a
battery. They depend on the "regular" batteries to "hold" the
settings. When the batteries are removed or discharged, the settings
return to the default after about an hour. This is stated in the
user manual for the C-3000 and C-4040. (I don't have the manual for
the 3030, but I'm assuming, it's the same.)

If you are loosing the settings just by turning off the camera, and
the batteries are drained, then something is wrong with the camera.

This is the normal thing in Camedia C-3000 and C-3030 Just push menu
button(in P or show mode) then Unde mode setup go to setup then under all
reset set off.Next time your adjustments will be keeping in memory.ALso
under all rest you can choose custom. There you can custom what options will
you keep after turn off the camera or just going to default.
Read the manual again and again.
    Best regards.

    Stefan-

This happened to me with my C-3040Z. I had forgotten about the setting, and
was caught when I left the battery out too long when recharging. It took quite
a while to realize what had happened and correct the setting.
