Re: ??? on how to link to a specific part of an image
Hello,
The easiest way to do it is to define the anchor namee in Dreamweaver. So
...in Fireworks, include the achor name in your link. For example, if you
want to link the hotspot to a file called Sample.htm, and specifically at
the bottom part of that page, the link should look something like this
Sample.htm#bottom.
"bottom" is the name you will give your achor in Dreamweaver.
you can insert the anchors in Dreamweaver by using the Invisible category of
the Object
(Insert in DWMX) panel. When you select to insert an anchor you'll get a
dialog box that allows you to name the anchor.
Here is an issue that you might avoid in suing named anchors.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply! However, I tried doing what you said and I have the same problem that I had with another method I tried...when I click the link, instead of going to the anchor that I want, it just goes to the top of the page. Any ideas on what I did wrong? Thanks!!!

Re: ??? on how to link to a specific part of an image
Hello,
Assuming you have done asigning the acnchor name in the link for your
pop-ups, got ot Dreamweaver and follow the steps below.
1.Go to the page where you want your anchor to be linked.
2.In that page, place the insertion cursor on the area of the page you want
your link to direct first. (Ex. Top, middle, or bottom part of the page)
3. Click Insert > Invisible Tags > Named Anchor
4.The Insert Named Anchor window will then appear and you have to enter an
anchor name. Then click OK.
Note: Anchor names cannot contain spaces and are case sensitive.
5.You will then see a yellow element with an anchor in it indicating your
named anchor.
6.Go back to the page where your link is (the page with Fireworks
Navigations).
7. Go to the Property Inspector panel and in the link text box, check if it
has #"Anchor Name." So your link should look something like this
"page.htm#namedanchor." Where namedanchor is the name of the anchor you
made.
8.Then preview the page in browser.
If you can also give us a URL so we can check it out ourselves, it might be
of help.
I hope this helps.

Re: ??? on how to link to a specific part of an image
Thanks, it works now!! One more question, when the user clicks a hotspot, is it possible to zoom to a desired spot on the image. The reason I ask is because I've got a Yellow page out of a phone book and I'm trying to set it up so that when the name of the business is clicked, it zooms in on the ad for that business. The business name and ad are going to be on the same page. So far I haven't been able to link the ad and name correctly. Any ideas on how to get this accomplished? Thanks again!!!

Re: ??? on how to link to a specific part of an image
When you mentioned swapping images, it gave me an idea. I created a layer in DWMX that contains an enlarged image of a particular ad. I then used onMouseOver to display the layer when the user rolls over the business's name. Hopefully my problem is solved. Thanks for all the help Anthony!!!
