    Default Only load certified plug-ins

Acrobat 7.0.8 in my general preferences I in the start-up categorie I have Only load certified plug-ins deactivated (not checked) but the mode still says YES. I have tried activating and deactivating but nothing works to get the state to NO.
I need this because plug=ins don't load with this option set to YES.

This is normal. It happens when you do not have any suitable plug-ins
installed. Perhaps you are trying to install plug-ins written for
    Acrobat 6?

Hi, thanx for the suggestion but even with Enfocus PitStop Professional 7 and Quite Imposing 2 installed (i checked the folders and they are present, preferences too) i'am not able to get the certified mode to say no. Checked and unchecked the box several times.

Make sure Use Certified Plug-ins is switched OFF, and then you need to
solve a different problem. Not sure what yet, but you can ignore the
    certified plug-ins issue.

In Proeprties, what Quite Imposing/QI files does the Document
Properties show? (Ignoring the PDF files)

Hi it is switched off but for some reason the Current certified mode still says yes.

Not sure what you mean with this,
"In Proeprties, what Quite Imposing/QI files does the Document
Properties show? (Ignoring the PDF files)"
for the moment i don't have any plug-ins visible in Acrobat ..

That's fine. Don't worry about this.

I mean to do Command+I (sorry, not Properties) on the Acrobat
Professional icon. Look under the Plug-ins tab to get a list of
plug-in files. Please list all those you see starting with "Q".

Ok, just as a test try this:

    Quit Acrobat
Check it has gone from the Dock
Find the Acrobat Professional icon (not shortcut)
Double click, taking care not to touch the keyboard

    Does anything change?

    Hi,
Acrobat launches when double clicking the icon and not the shortcut .. as expected :-)
Don't see why anything should change I didn't change any setting.

    Hmmm.

Did you install Quite Imposing directly with its installer (which
should have put some PDF files), or were the files copied manually?

There are pdf's in the plug-in folder.

This is not strange, it is normal. I really do recommend you stop
    focussing on this.

To repeat: if no plug-ins are found, it is NORMAL to say mode: yes.
You need to fix the problem that no plug-ins are found.

Unfortunately, the symptoms you describe are difficult to understand,
since reinstalling plug-ins has always solved this in the past.

    Maybe some history will help.

Have plug-ins ever worked on this PC? If so, what changed.

Also, what is the exact version of Acrobat, as shown by the About
    Acrobat dialog?

Ok let me give you some more info,
    Mac OS X 10.4.7
    Acrobat 7.0.8
no antivirus no special setup, one user who is also the administrator.

I have reinstalled Acrobat and ran disk utility to repair permissions. I then installed the plug-ins as mentioned before, no luck. Despite checking and unchecking the option. Then reinstalled the plug-ins rebooted my system no plug-ins. Tried the option again, no luck. I checked the package content of Acrobat and the necessary files and folders are present. Checked permissiosn on those files everything seems ok but no luck.

It worked with an older version of Acrobat 6.0 and plug-ins but ever since I updated to Acrobat 7 ... no plug-ins.

    You told me
"You need to fix the problem that no plug-ins are found." but how can i do this ????????? if the option is not the problem how do i tell Acrobat that their are plug-ins installed.

I don't know but that's what we need to work at solving.

One thing which occurs to me: do you have an anti-virus running? In
the past, anti-viruses have sometimes stopped programs from running or
installing properly. It is worth trying to reinstall and then run with
    any anti-virus off.

We should also check if Acrobat can find its own plug-ins ok. Please
use Acrobat > About Adobe Plug-Ins. Do you see a long list of plug-ins
(20-30, no need to list them)? Or do you see "No Adobe plug-ins"?

Maybe the plug-in is not designed to work with Acrobat 7, just Acrobat
    6. There were changes that made some old plug-ins incompatible.
