open .dxf file Unkown format can't be opened
The file is from a pc Autocad sent through email. I don't know the exact version of Autocad but I told my draftsman what I could import(13,14,200,2002) and he said I should be able to import it. He said he would sent in in .dwg but I'm afaid I'll have the same problem. Any clues?
By the way, where did the .dxf place option go in InDesign. Pagemaker could place a .dxf.

The key may be "sent through the mail." It may have gotten munged.
Try having them Zip the file before sending it.
