open/edit .dds in Fireworks? - Macromedia Fireworks

Anyone know if there is a way to edit/save .dds texture files (Nividia) in fireworks? I cannot seem to get the Photoshop 7. Plugin that is available to work in Fireworks ( dds.8bi ) Any help would be great. Thanks...

Not familiar with Nividia, but can you export out as a PNG or JPG? If
you can do that you can put the files into your Textures folder in
Fireworks and they'll show right up. Note that you should make the image
    dimensions 128 X 128 or 256 X 256 to be compatible with FW textures.

NVidia is a hardware manufacturer. They make graphics cards for PeeCees.

I don't know how to edit dds files....

To be a little more specific, Photoshop Import/Export plugins (i.e., *.8bi
files) do not work with FW - only Filter plugins (i.e., *.8bf files) do
(well, most of them <g>). I've spent some time trying to find the "freeware"
solution but I appeared to be unable to. So, I may only suggest some
    "shareware" or "commercial" ones:

If one uses PC and has something like Adobe Photoshop Elements, it may be
good idea to give it a try - normally, plugins developed for Photoshop work
under Elements, too. Well, I personally hate Elements but... maybe it will
be useful at least for this particular job :-) Also, if one has JASC
PaintShop Pro, it may be good idea to try using this plugin under PSP as
well - PSP can handle most Photoshop-compatible I/O plugins.
