open firmare, append device cdrom?
hi,
i have bought a second-hand powerbook g4 and i want to re-install mac
os x...
but when i try to boot (i pressed c)from the installtion disk there
come a promt "restart your machine ...".
then i read that i can press apple+v when the grey apple comes...so i
did and saw some debugger information until the last line was "panic:
hanging herer" or something like that followed with that old promt
"restart your machine ...".
after that started open firmware and put the command dev / ls
but there wasn't any devices like cdrom or something like that.
now my question is:
what is wrong with that? mustn't there be any devices like cdrom?
and if yes, how can i append that devices?
thanks for all aswering that hopefully would come!
