Open Type small caps not scalable?
IDCS2. When using an Open Type font and I open Indesign Preferences (Command-K-Advanced Type) and change the percent value for small caps, I get no change in the scaling. Postscript fonts show the change, but Open Type fonts do not? I tried Adobe Caslon Pro, Adobe Garamond Pro, etc. with the same lack of results. It does not matter if I use small caps or Open Type all small caps. *One exception has been Adobe Caslon Pro Italic. It is worth noting that Indesign does not consider the Caslon Pro Italic lowercase small caps to be a substituted glyph, yet the Caslon Pro Roman lowercase small caps are highlighted as a substituted glyph. (Command -K - Composition)

Re: Open Type small caps not scalable?
One explanation could be that the Open Type small caps is an actual glyph of the font. As such, unlike with the other font types, the small cap is not created using the small cap percentage values, and therefore is not affected by any changes to the small cap percentage value.

Re: Open Type small caps not scalable?
It's not one explanation, it is THE explanation. The percentage setting only affect faux small caps created on the fly for fonts without true small caps. BTW, if the font does not have true small cap even if it is a Open Type the control would work.
