    Default Opening DIR files

    Hi all,

I think I have a fairly simple question that seems to have illuded me for
quite some time now. See, the problem is that when I am using Director MX I
obviously save out a movie as a .dir file, then when I navigate to the folder
where I have saved that .dir file it doesnt recognise it as a Director file
consequently, when I try double clicking it it doesnt want to open in Director.
I have tried changing the program that it opens with (for some reason it seems
to only want to open in Internet Explorer) but Director isn't on the list of
possible programs to open it with.

I am still able to open Director MX and then open the .dir file by navigating
that way, but this can get annoying, something simple that has been driving me
crazy for a while now. If someone could help that would be great.

    Cheers!

    Default Re: Opening DIR files

This has happened me at times when I am running two versions of Director,
then decide to remove one (when I feel comfortable with the upgrade). The
problem is when it is removed, that file association is removed as well. Try
simply re-installing Director, that should fix it for you, it will update
the file association in the registry.
