Opening Illustrator CS in Illustrator 8
We recently upgraded all of our systems & software to the latest & greatest...
Here's the problem... We have lots of old Illustrator files that we open in CS & save as eps files. When we go back to illustrator 8 & try to open the files we get a wonderful message... "Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains incomplete or garbled object description...."
How do you save a CS file that can be opened by previous versions of Illustrator?

File > Export > Legacy Illustrator or Legacy Illustrator EPS. Select Illustrator 8 compatibilility.

Also be aware of the issues of handling text which is saved backwards:
