Opening .indd files made in OS X in Windows XP Pro? - Adobe Indesign Windows

At school I use Adobe InDesign CS under Mac OS X and when I bring files home to my PC running Windows XP Pro SP1a and try to open them in Adobe InDesign CS I get a “Cannot Open File” error which reads: DOENT FRAMEWORK.RPLN 'Cannot open “Magma Soap Box.indd”. The machines at my school are silver G4s with 512MB of RAM, I think. My home machine is a Pentium 4 3Ghz with 1GB RAM.

    Are both machines at 3.0.1?

I had the same problem when trying to load pages I had created at Uni on my home XP machine. Turns out I had a dodgy beta version which had been sold to me on eBay.
I now have the full Educational Creative Suite, and everything works fine.
Check your version number on the PC (hold shift and go to Help menu, then About InDesign) and if it's 404, then it's the beta version. If you try and update it to 3.01 via the patch, that'll make it crash constantly.

    Hope this helps.
