Opening .indd files made in OS X in Windows XP Pro?
At school I use Adobe InDesign CS under Mac OS X and when I bring files home to my PC running Windows XP Pro SP1a and try to open them in Adobe InDesign CS I get a “Cannot Open File” error which reads: DOCUMENT FRAMEWORK.RPLN 'Cannot open “Magma Soap Box.indd”. Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign.'
When I click Help>Updates I am told the there are no updates available. Is it just not possible to go from Mac to PC with indd files? I had no problem going from PC to Mac!
The machines at my school are silver G4s with 512MB of RAM, I think. My home machine is a Pentium 4 3Ghz with 1GB RAM.

Re: Opening .indd files made in OS X in Windows XP Pro?
I had the same problem when trying to load pages I had created at Uni on my home XP machine. Turns out I had a dodgy beta version which had been sold to me on eBay.
I now have the full Educational Creative Suite, and everything works fine.
Check your version number on the PC (hold shift and go to Help menu, then About InDesign) and if it's 404, then it's the beta version. If you try and update it to 3.01 via the patch, that'll make it crash constantly.
Hope this helps.
