Default OPTIMIZE SCANNED PDF PROBS Acrobat Pro 9

"Optimize Scanned PDF" option under DOCUMENT seems to do a great job, only problem is that it seems to take parts of the document and overlap itself. The source PDF is fine. But the result always have these overlaps.

The only way I can describe it is that after optimization it looks like when 2 pages feed in a fax or copier machine and you get part of one document over the other. This happens with single and multipage PDFs. Anybody know how to fix this??

Yep, have also noted this behaviour. Odd. Don't trust this function any more.

Tried fiddling around with the settings without success.

Tried a variety of options settings in hopes of correcting it too, but no change. Bummer because otherwise the results for this feature are great. Sometimes I just OCR the file and that does it, but often it lowers the quality such that it is unusable. Better if I start with a hi-res PDF scan.

That is the way to get them fixed.

Been having the same problem but I'd kept Acrobat Pro 8 on my computer and tried it instead of 9. Didn't reduce the file size quite as much but otherwise worked fine and at an obviously different page by page rhythm than 9.

Have the same problem with Acrobat 9, but don't have Acrobat 8. Did you get an answer from Adobe?
