Just for those without a clue about how to use their cubePort or gPort
with a serial printer under OS X:

Up to Os 9.2 i could use an old HP 850C with my - then still - new Cube
with the help of the Griffin cubePort. Same thing exists as gPort for an
ordinary G4.

The past year I've been looking, at intervals, for a solution how to get
this working with OS X too. And with the serialprintenabler it is now
WORKING!

so the following configuration is a working one:
- Cube 500/512/60, OS X 10.2.6
- HP Deskjet 850C
- Griffin cubePort - turns internal modem port into serial port
- Gimp-print 4.2.5 - d/l http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3
- gPort_OSX_1-2.sit - d/l www.griffintechnology.com
- SerialPrintEnabler - d/l
home.comcast.net/~somers_software/serial_backend

I have tried to compile the serial backend for Cups myself with no avail
but the SerialPrintEnabler does it.

So good luck,

Johan
