Forgot to add, and yes, I have read/write permission on the Acrobat Standard 6 version already installed on my hard disk.

It sounds like your Acrobat 6 Standard was an upgrade copy, and it's looking for a previous version of Acrobat, perhaps one that was installed under OS 9. You should probably call Adobe Customer Support.

Steve, yes, I checked and you are right it was an upgrade to Acrobat 5.0. However, that Serial # was in the format like KMW500R 151-1515-434, so it won't fit into the Acrobat 6 request for 6 groups of 4 numbers each.

I tried Customer Service, but I live in Peru and after a half-hour I gave up. But if no one comes up with an answer I'll try calling later during what assumedly are non-peak calling hours.

    Any other ideas?

Unfortunately, Customer Service is about the only way to deal with that kind of problem.
