Default OS9 : Defrag File Snippet?

Hoping, (perhaps with preposterous optimism), to put together an After
Dark(tm) module, (don't talk about my age, please), which will
(slowly) optimize files/drives. Modules, of different kinds, I've
    done already.

I'm looking at IM:Files, the deadtrees edition, (I asked you not
to talk about my age), and it looks like I can make some bumbling
attempts on my own, but.... you know-- it wouldn't hurt to look at
what someone else has done. Unfortunately it's just not the kind of
thing to appear as Sample Code, or I can't find it. MoreFiles seems
to help with tangential parts, but not the core.

Anybody seen something remotely helpful *still* available for
    download? Thanks,

Ah, that was a nice little blurb. The arguments against bothering
are, I think, blown away by my intention to have this occur via a
screen saver-- in fact it pleases me to think that something useful is
being done while I'm not there. But I do take the point that the
utility is nominal at best. Thanks.
