Me too. With each major release, fewer punters claim that OS X is beta software. There are still some left who think Panther is beta software. With their definition of "beta", all software is beta until it is abandoned (e.g. Mac OS 9.2.2).
[10.1] was just slow compared to the newer versions.
It was fast compared with 10.0, which was stable but slow on anything other than a G4.

Correct, max out RAM and upgrade to the latest OS. Buy good brand non-Apple RAM.
