OSX finder sorting question - Mac Applications & Software

Has anyone seen a situation where the finder running in Jaguar exhibits the following characteristics? Sometimes, when you enter a folder, everything is sorted in reverse, BUT when you click on anything, the sorting snaps back to normal? This seems to happen to me in my most used folders only. This is quite annoying because when I doubleclick on some other subfolder to enter it, the sorting snaps back to normal and the folder entered is the one in that appears the place where I double clicked AFTER it has resorted. Does anyone know what causes this or how to ...

    Default OSX finder sorting question

Has anyone seen a situation where the finder running in Jaguar exhibits the
    following characteristics?

Sometimes, when you enter a folder, everything is sorted in reverse, BUT
when you click on anything, the sorting snaps back to normal? This seems
to happen to me in my most used folders only.

This is quite annoying because when I doubleclick on some other subfolder
to enter it, the sorting snaps back to normal and the folder entered is the
one in that appears the place where I double clicked AFTER it has resorted.

Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?

It does that to me also, especially on our Windows server running Win
Services for Macintosh. We're going to upgrade to PC/MacLAN in a
couple of weeks so maybe it'll stop that. I hope.

Actually I ended up deleting the .DS_Store files in the directories where I
see this most often and it seems to be behaving itself now. I doubt it's a
windows server related issue as this occurs on a normal non-server iBook
    for me.
