OSX Modem Setting (PPP) Question-! - Mac Applications & Software

Can anyone suggest a way to configure my modem (mac G4, OS X v10.1.2) to reject incoming calls on my common, amalogue phone line-? I always get a good dialup, about 49,000 bps; I'm satisfied without a DSL os equal. Anyway, I can't prevent incoming calls from disconnecting me. My old Mac and the external Sportster modem worked fine. Is there a character I can type into the dialup number to provide a pause, so the "*70" prefix can work-? Is this the way to do it-? This is frustrating---! Thanks in advance-- Buzzy...

A comma in the dialing string will cause the modem to pause for the
number of seconds -- 2 by default -- specified in the S8 register.

For a list of other dialing modifiers, look for the AT Commands
Reference PDF at the Apple web site.
