Default (OT): Can someone tell me what a BLOG is?

I see them everywhere and although I know many acronyms and even looked
this one up on: http://www.acronymsearch.com/index.php I couldn't find
what the letter "B" stands for. The "L", "O' and "G" you don't have to
tell me. I assume they are meant like "log entry".

Acronymsearch gave me this:

BLOG Web Log (Interactive internet journal/diary/news)

Thanks in advanceD. ;-)

It's just one of those funny American English things again. You get from
"WebLog" to ""Blog" by saying it real fast over and over, until the first
two letters just melt off from the sheer heat of speed friction ;o) It's not
an acronym as such. Someone probably thought it would sound better if it
were just one syllable instead of two. "It just sound cooler."

Probably the same people who came up with "XP" for eXtreme Programming,
because we finally wore out RAD (Rapid Application Development). The
alphabet soup of computers really does get very silly at times.

Here's a pretty good blogging primer:

Depending on which blogging software you look at it can be:
-) free or licensed (you have to read the fine print really carefully on the
both types)
-) Hosted on your own server or hosted on a common blogging server.

Some of the blogging software out there can be found at:

Null sheen. What are friends for at the end of a long night, if not for
long posts and the one too many cups of coffee? ;o)

All the best,

You be careful with that coffee Sam, this is not the first time you
mentioned this here. Caffeine has this bad habit of draining your Livers
essential Fructose acids. You need these for your Brain which converts
it into Glucose which in turn contributes to making it possible for you
to make long posts. That is, until your Liver becomes saturated with
that active ingredient of Caffeine (which name I can't remember right
now..) and you start to shiver, then heavily, then you start seeing
little dwarfs running from left to right on your FW Canvas drawing out
the most amazing shapes and figures. Then, all of a sudden, you drop on
the floor without having any control over it - you have effectively
drained all your natural resources your body so preciously tries te
refill at night WHEN YOU ARE ... making long posts.. ;-)

I've been there Sam.. and it wasn't a pretty sight.
