OT--Copperplate & Lower Case
Years ago, I stumbled across a Copperplate font that actually had a lower case character set with fine serifs and all. Can't remember where I saw it. Anybody have any clues? I know there's a Copperplate 'Modern' series with conventional ULC character designs, but it doesn't carry the same flavor as the original Plate Gothics.

You may be thinking of the old Alphatype font family "American Gothic". It has been digitized by URW and is available from myfonts.com. Search for it by family name "American Gothic".

Thanks George, but the font I'm looking for actually had the hairline serifs in its lower case, same as the regular plate gothics.
