Hey Robb
Legality all depends on the EULA of the particular fonts. Most likely,
no. Usually the EULA allows the fonts to be installed on one machine,
some houses do alow for copying to other machines/users for the purpose
of editing/printing as long as the fonts are then wiped out. It all
depends on who made the font.

Re: OT: Need help if this is legal
what IS the font anyway.
Nuptial Script. I didn't want to mention it because you never know who's reading and I don't want the owner of the script to flame me.
Mr. Owner, if you're out there, this is strictly personal (as opposed to Strictly Commercial.)

Think I'll just look for an alternative script font.

Cats,
Thank you so much. I think I found a font that matches our invitations!
Speaking of which, when we picked out our invitations, they tried to upcharge us $100 for certain fonts. My fiancee and I laughed in their face as they tried to justify the additional expense by saying it's more ink, it's harder to print, etc.

Re: OT: Need help if this is legal
AHoleHeller's are good at that auto-quote crap as well, because the software is set to do that by default.
I hammer anyone who forwards me more than one level of quoted replies in an email HARD.

I see it's value in reading newsgroups, especially popular ones, but as this is primaraly a web based group (as you know Phos, just stating it once again for the newbies) it can be really annoying to those of us who hang out here trying to help.

it's harder to print
that IS rich! :)
(the physical, mechanical) printer: "Ouch! That font hurts! Oooh! Ow!!! Stop it! I'm warning you!"
LMAO!

Right. I felt like asking him what RIP his printer was using, and why should it matter if it's DTP? By submitting a 300 dpi PDF with fonts included, the chances for variants are extremely minimal.
Yeah, I felt like being a jerk and throwing every acronym I know at him, even if it caused a malapropysm, but I just went with one of the fonts included in the price and let it go.

It's a rarity that I get to score scripting points on a dave milbut, so I have to take the opportunity when I get it. It may never happen again.

Thanks Viol, but Yahoo e-mail is blocked from my web-access while at work. I made changes using a free font that I found through one of Cat's links.
Now the fact that it won't be you but someone else sending the font is
splitting hairs a little, and I suppose it should be your employer that
holds a license for the font for everything to be strictly legal, but
you
aren't going to get hauled away and banged up for it, now are you?
Thanks for the explanation Len, I have no reason to ever use this font at work, unless it was a personal favor for someone. But I try not to do those for people here unless they have a V. and a P. in their title.
If I know something is gray-area, I try to find out the rules associated with it. Yes, I'm known for occasionally breaking rules I don't particularly find important, but I hold some things more sacred than others.
