    Yes, it'll be the print head. If you have it, dig out the manual. Run a
    bunch of cleaning cycles & nozzle tests on it to see if it comes good.
    If it doesn't, it's also possible that the cleaning assembly is stuffed.
    This is very common with the small BJs, especially if they haven't been
    used for a while. They get all clogged with dried ink, which glues up
    all the gears & tubes. It's unlikely to be worth spending money on
    repairing a cheap, old model like the 4200.

    Yes, Windex works well on Canon ink. I've used it to save quite a few
    stubborn clogged heads & cleaning assemblies.

    I'd advise doing cleaning cycles & nozzle checks instead of the 'black
    square' print, though. :)

    I've cleaned the ink head out with Windex like recommended and still have
    the same problem. Horizontal lines across the page. I'm also not getting any
    blue ink printing. Looks like it is time to buy a new printer. Before I do
    this though I will try another ink head, or maybe a plain black cartridge,
    if I can find someone else with one I could borrow.
