Outlines not matching font

    Default Outlines not matching font

When I convert a font to outlines the outlines are not matching the original
font. The post scripts that I have are the right ones. When I convert the same
exact font in FH9 or Illustrator the outline comes out right. Has anyone else
had this problem? As usual, any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

I have had a similar problem when using Impact fonts. I suspect that the
cause lies either in the Windows font substitution tables, or in Adobe
Type Manager. I have never investigated it fully, as I have other fonts
(Swiss911 and Helvetica Compressed) that are very nearly indistinguishable
from Impact. I have not seen any changes between the outlines of live text
and converted text in any other fonts.

Is this a Multiple Master font, in FHMX under OS X? If so, check the
'Multiple Master Fonts' thread from a few days ago.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think that these are Multiple Master fonts. I
read the post you referred me to. That is good info to know. We only have a few
MM fonts here. When I convert the font to outlines, some of the letters
actually match. The font doesn't really revert back to a substituted font (like
our favortie friend Courier). Other letters (especially ones with ascenders and
descenders) come out wrong. The ascenders/descenders will either be to long or
to short. ??? I should have written the name of the fonts that do this down. I
will try to hunt downt he specific fonts and see if I can test them again in
FH9 and Illustrator. I don't know if it has anything to do with this, but we
use fontographer to convert fonts back and forth from PC to Mac and vice versa.
Could this possibly cause problems or corruption with some fonts loaded into OS
X? (The version of Fontographer we have is a OS 9 and before program only)
    Thanks for the help again.
