overlap slice

is there a way to stop the overlapping of slices?

I am trying to set up a fw/html but am having problems keeping the slices on their own spaces :)

Have you tried increasing the zoom, so that you have a bit more control when
creating the slices?

Are you creating slices for individual items or for dividing up graphical
elements? Forget the steps, and I won't be at my work (Studio MX) machine
until tomorrow. However, there is a method for creating a slice for the
currently selected object. I don't use it nearly enough (always forget to).
However, it should be fairly evident in the Slicing help documentation. If
you can't find it and someone else doesn't get to it first, I'll post the
steps tomorrow evening.

Are you using the Grid, "Snap To Grid", Guides?

Wouldn be nice if Fireworks had a toggle to prevent overlap, but that "hound
just don't hunt" yet...
