Overlapping objects - Macromedia Freehand

When I want to publish my work to HTML, I get the message: overlapping objects as a warning. Do I need to link object on different layers to solve this problem? When I select >selest all and then link; I get an out of memory message. Please help!...

No, you do not _need_ to do anything most of the time.

The warning is merely stating that what was two separate objects in the FH
doent had to be combined into a single object in the HTML output file.
HTML does not allow overlapping objects so FH had to combine them.

If the overlapping objects do not have any navigation attached to them, you
don't need to to anything. If they have navigation attached, you should make
changes to the FH doent as follows:

1 If they have the same navigation links or if only one have a link, you
should Group them in FH and apply the link to the Group.
    2. If they have differing navigation links, you should redesign the page
and/or these objects so that they do not overlap. This will allow FH to
export them as separate objects, each with their own link.
