Overlay and low quality text
Hello to everybody
i have a little problem
when i try to use the overlay for display some text on my 3d simulation, i
only obtain a low quality text, and i can't understand why...
this is may code...

Hi Dave,
Your final texture needs to be a power of 2, to remain sharp ( eg 64,
128, 256 etc ).

yes, i know, but this is a text, that i update every frame to display the
velocity of my ship.

in this example in directordev he use text for overlay but in this example is
an high quality text even though the code is quite equal.
i can't understand what i mistake.

One suggestion springs to mind. Drop your text box onto the stage, drag it
to a width that is a power of 2. Make the text height plus the line gap a
power of 2 number also. This should force the image grab of the text member
to be the correct size.

As I said some time before, you can't obtain High-Quality textures using 8 or
16 (in your case) bit depth.
So ...
member("mondo").texture("txt_vel").RenderFormat = #rgba8888
that's all

y1/overlay1.dir example he use #rgba5551 instead of #rgba8888 and work
perfectly.

Because "he" is clever enough ... LOL
You may also use #rgba4444 !
But to get best results, you have to tune up the font and the text height.
("multiple of 2 or 8" is not working on any kind of font)
try to do your best.
