    Default Overprinting Images

I have an image that I created in Photoshop that consists of 100% black with varying levels of transparency. I would like it to overprint in InDesign. How do I do this?

    Multiply in the transparency palette.

I think setting opacity to 99.9% would do it, also.

    You lost me there Robert.

How would setting the opacity of a image to 99.9% cause the image to overprint the background?

Once it's transparent, whatever is behind it should show through. At
99.9% it will simply overprint what's behind it.

A 99.9% opacity will only show .1% more of the background through. Opacity only shows the background through the image because it made the inverse opacity % of the image transparent.

It does not cause the image to overprint. The image will still knock out the background.

Not that I ever had one myself. ;)

    Default Overprinting Images

Use Direct Selection Tool to select the image, then apply Overprint Fill in Appearance Window.
