    In order to reference one class in a package path from another you'll need to
    add the root directory of the project to the global classpath - yes I know,
    don't get me started on how much that torqued me off.

    Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Actionscript tab -> "ActionScript 2.0
    Settings..." button
