page design - Adobe Photoshop Elements

Am attempting to place small photo images around the border of an 8x11 page and don't know how to repeat and organize images. Print preview box only allows me to drag one image to one position. How to import or repeat several images into preview box for placement? Adobe Photoshop Elements 2. Instruction manual /help menu doesn't address question. Thanks for any guidance. Your first step would be to create a new doent that is 8x11 or whatever size you want it to be. Make sure when you create it that you set the PPI that same as your little pictures. Now, open each little picture and drag it onto your large doent. Each picture will be placed on its own layer so you will be able to move it around with the Move tool and place it appropriately. You will probably want to have your layer pallette open because if you want to move any of the layers you will have to choose the appropriate layer in order to move the photograph. You aren't going to want to use the "Print Preview" until you have got all of your pictures arranged the way you want them. I hope this will at least get you started. If you have other questions, feel free to ask.

    Whitney,

    Make your composition within PSE.

    * Create a new canvas (with your desired dimensions), set the resolution to between 200-300 ppi for a quality print.
    * Make sure you have the Layers Palette visible permanently on the side of your workarea (drag it down from the top if needed)
    * Open any images you wish to place on your canvas.
    * With an image active, drag the layer from the Layers Palette and drop it on your blank canvas. If you want to make the active image smaller onscreen so you can see the blank canvas, just press Control and the negative sign (ctrl/-)
    * Drag and drop each image to blank canvas.
    * If the images are not the same res. as your canvas, they will assume the res. of canvas. You can change res. of images to match canvas beforehand if desired (usually best)
    * Each image will be placed on its own layer on the canvas. To move their positions around, highlight the appropriate layer on the canvas, get the Move tool and drag to reposition. If you need to reduce the size of an image on canvas, use the Scale feature. You can also rotate each image if desired.
    * When all is set up, save this composition and print.

If you get stuck somewhere, come back.
