Page format switching madness... or not.
I have a publication of about 20 pages, originally 8.15 x 11 that we now, want to print on a 11 x 17 and fold.
Is it possible to print the pages on a 11 . 17 landscape (so I get two pages/page), coherently in order to have a booklet, without changing the original format of the document (i. e. changing the original to 11x17 document.
Since I have it all on 8 .5 x 11 already, all 20 pages, would LOVE to simply print the way it is...
Possible?
thanks!

Re: Page format switching madness... or not.
Which version of InDesign? If the latest, then use InBooklet on the File menu to print your document in 2-up saddle-stitched format.

Or, search the forum for 'imposition' and seek out a reference to a script by Shane Stanley that creates a temporary 2-up imposed file.

Re: Page format switching madness... or not.
I think I have figured out how to do them all on the master pages. You only put them on the master pages you want numbers on. Have other master pages for those unnumbered. I do have one question. What are the short cuts for a Mac? I didn’t like having to go to Insert Special Characters each time I wanted to put a page number on. I don’t have an “Alt” key so I am thinking your instructions are for a PC.
The thing most instructions don't include is the "Special Character." Under Special Character there is an Insert Page number or something similar. You place your insert bar where you want it and it places the name of the Master page you are putting it on. If you have pages that you don't want, you make a separate master for that one and don't put a number on it. Somehow the program knows how to keep track of the pages and when you finish by "Making Booklet" it orders the pages like you want them to print on an 11x 17 paper.
Hope this helps.
