Page orientation switches from landscape to portrait.
I have a MS Word document that is in landscape orientation (11 inches wide, 8.5 inches tall). If I do a "Save as PDF" the resulting PDF document keeps the correct orientation. However if I use the "Adobe PDF" as printer approach, the orientation is switched to portrait, with the left-hand portion of the page cropped off and white space added to the top. I tried changing the Distiller settings to the desired orientation, but still got the same result. I would rather use the Adobe PDF as printer approach because the file size is about half the size as the Save as PDF approach.
(I am on a G4 with OS 10.2, using Acrobat 6.02)
Any recommended solutions out there?
Many thanks.

Not a Word user - but have you tried different Distiller job options?
Distiller 6 presents different options which will rotate the PDF if it
feels the content depticts this ....
The SMALLEST option DOES ... the PRESS option does not ..
This might help?

Re: Page orientation switches from landscape to portrait.
Also, make sure that when you are in File > Page Setup, if you choose Adobe PDF printer that the orientation is Landscape. Usually, when you change printers the orientation should carry over, but perhaps it did not.

Re: Page orientation switches from landscape to portrait.
Jon & Steve: thanks for your advice, but everythings seems to be as it should. I get an error message log that reads "%%[ Error: bounds check (callsubr) ]%%" Does this mean anything to you?
Another observation: If I attempt to print as PDF on a single page it works fine. Perhaps there is a problem because the Word document consists of two sections? Any additional suggestions?
Thanks again.

... still not a Word user but ...
Create the PDF separates and then merge together in Acrobat?
Not very solid advice ... maybe Steve can advise?

Re: Page orientation switches from landscape to portrait.
Thanks Jon, I have indeed done just that. So, in the short term, a work-around solved the problem.
Still, for future occurances (e.g., a document with MANY sections), a general solution that solves the real problem would be nice to have.
Thank you again, for your time.

Re: Page orientation switches from landscape to portrait.
Word for the Mac has had a problem for a long time with creating PostScript files when there are sections. Each section is treated (in PostScript) as a separate file so when they hit Distiller, they're not treated as part of the same file. That might be part of the problem.
