    Default Page set up changes

Why is my page set up changing back to an 8.5x11 when I change printers? I switch printers, do "shift, cmd, p" and it reverts back to an 8.5x11. Very annoying. I have to manually go back through the page set up menu and reset my page size to what it was.

    V 10.0.3, Mac

    Thanks

I have the same problem and posted this message on January 15 and so far have no responses. I'll be watching for a response to yours "I work in Illustrator 10 and 8; MAC os 9 and X. I set the custom page /document size and save the file, close the file reopen it and the page size defaults to letter size. It must be reentered every time I open the file, make a change and print it. We open these files and make changes several times a day and this gets very time consuming. When first opened the page size appears the to be the custom size but when its finished printing a 14 X 31" file the letter size page shows up and of course the print is only partial and not the full image. Occasionally the custom sizes holds and we don't have to reenter it but not very often. We thought it was changing printers that did the defaulting but it happens even when going to the same printer with different files. HELP ITS DRIVING US NUTZ!!! "

Thanks Mary. You've described it to a tee. I have mentioned it here and there in other posts over the last two weeks with the only suggestion that I go to Adobe Illustrator presets, style and save a page setup there. That didn't work. Hope we get someone's attention here.

Good luck. If you search through past forum topics on this subject you will find that problems with 'Page Set Up' in Illustrator 10 were not uncommon. I suspect your fix may be to upgrade to Illustrator CS, which is much improved in this area, and is overall a better and more stable version of Illustrator than 10 was.

Ugh. I'm on OS 9.1. CS requires 10. I'm ready to go back to Illustrator 9.
