Default PageMaker doc delivers text offset in ID 2.0

Because of some difficulties with Export to PDF in PM6.5
(using a PM7 doc "pmd" with Arial Beyrut) I have tried to
move to ID 2.0. The kerning and the text position of a
headline is a little wrong, but the Export itself is OK.

How can I force ID to reproduce the PM content accurately ?

    You can't.

InDesign has advanced composition options that you can't switch off.

    Dave,

thanks, no doubt you are right. But IMO the reference line
for a text is the lower edge of e.g. "H" or "P" or "E".
It´s probably not "advanced" to shift this reference line.
I would call it a bug.
About the kerning I´m more tolerant.

It all depends on the font designer. If the font designer builds in a side-bearing then the software should (and does) respect it. We had a discussion about this just the other day. Do a forum search on "bearing" and see if it throws up the discusion. It might have been in the Mac forum.
