Default Pagemaker Plugin is for everyone not just former PM users

I upgraded only this week (I use Windows XP) and I love CS Suite. Today I put the 5th CD in and installed the Indesign CS Pagemaker Plugin (although I don't have any Pagemaker docs). It is definitely worth installing because you get INBOOKLET as well as templates and other stuff automatically added to Indesign as well as a great Toolbar.
I just tested Inbooklet and it works great. You can either use it on the existing document or create a new document that can be edited easily with all the imposition already done.
I print to a Document Centre so this is very useful. Thank you.

    Karen,

Indeed. Congratulations on seeing past the rather parochial name Adobe chose to give to these plug-ins.

    Karen,

Does it mean that the PageMaker Plugin is included in the Creative
Suite Premium package? I have the Creative Suite Standard but no
    PageMaker Plugin unfortunately.

I was reading about this Data Merge plug in and was about to order the Adobe PageMaker Plug in Pack when I read that it shipped with both CS Premium and standard edition. Cool! But I can't find it anywhere.
Disk 1 and 2 are installs, there´s a disk Resources and extra´s, one called Resources and extra´s Disk 1 and a disk with the Video Workshop training. But I could not find this plug-in on either one of them.

Hope to hear from anybody soon because I think this Data Merge function is exactly where I'm looking for. US 4 isn't that much (...) but when it's for free is even better (here the Dutchman is talking!).

If you bought the Creative Suite before approximately February 2004, you don't have the PageMaker Plug-in Pack, but you are eligible to get it (call Adobe Customer Support) for a $5 shipping charge. It's a separate CD.

Creative Suite packages distributed after that are Adobe Creative Suite 1.1, and include the extra CDs. Of course, you may find a vendor with old boxes, but you can get them to order it for you, if you can.

Too bad they didn't incorporate auto-numbering.

There is a Bullets and Numbering feature in the plug-in pack. This can also be included in style sheets.

If by "auto-numbering" you mean automatically numbering paragraphs to create a numbered list, it is in the PageMaker Plug-in pack.

The feature is primitive, though, and doesn't do multi-level lists, nor does it make it easy to integrate non-numbered paragraphs between the numbered elements.

But there is indeed an auto-numbering option.

No, I'm talking about *REAL* numbering with paragraph styles like Framemaker can do.

    For example.

    Heading 1
    SubHeading 1.1
    SubHeading 1.1.1
    SubHeading 1.1.2
    Heading 2
    SubHeading 2.1
    SubHeading 2.1.1
    SubHeading 2.1.2

That's slated for InDesign 7 with the FrameMaker plug-in pack ;-)

    (just kidding)

    Haha - You're probably right.

Didn't pagemaker have hierarchical numbering though?

Not in PageMaker. Not in QuarkXPress. Not in InDesign. Maybe it was a plug-in or XTension?

Nah, my mistake I guess. Framemaker has it though. Frankly, I can't imagine a professional layout package not having that feature.
