Pagination help?
Looking for advice on the best way to do this:
We're a daily newspaper with 8 page editors doing layout all at once — each editor has 5-7 pages assigned to them. When they're done, they send their pages to the RIP (some were sent the night before, but most are sent around deadline).
When all pages are complete, we have someone from editorial gather the postscript pages from the RIP hot folders, put them in order, and distill the whole shebang into one pdf.
This is for our newly created pdf archives.
My question: Does anyone know of a way we can have one document from the beginning, with different people able to work on only their pages, therefore eliminating the pain of having to gather all of the pages at the end?

Re: Pagination help?
If all they need to work on is text, InCopy is the answer.

Re: Pagination help?
Well, they're doing layout ... in Indesign. They are page editors, not reporterse.

Re: Pagination help?
I've never used the book feature, but I've read about it in help (it wasn't very detailed, though). Could you tell me how it would work?

Re: Pagination help?
When everything is done, just create a new book file. Add the different
documents to it. From there, it's a matter of how many of the book
features you want/need to take advantage of.
Try playing around with using copies of last month's pages.
