I have downloaded the most recent version of Palm Desktop from the
Palm site. Version 4.1. I read another posting that said to start
the sync with the cable unplugged. Once it starts on the Palm, plug
in the cable. I did that and finally got a sync screen on the
computer, but it never went beyond that. Please, there has to be
someone out there that has solved this. I really dislike the
PalmConnect cable. It's just very unreliable.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    Cheers.

OK, I figured out the solution. First, throw away your PalmConnect
device - purchased from Palm. For $20, buy the iConcepts USB PDA
Adapter (do a search for the product). Download the latest driver
from http://www.sakar.com (click on support, PDA, adapters). Remove
the old drivers from your Extensions folder - PL.....). Completely
remove the Palm application. Restart. Install the latest version of
the Palm software. Restart. Install the downloaded iConcepts driver.
Restart. Go into Hotsync settings and under adapters you'll see the
    iConcepts device listed. That's it!

The PalmConnect device is horrible. Believe me, this is the best
    solution I've found.

    Good luck.
