You apparently worked it out? The post I am responding to is from Pan,
per the headers. Were you trying to post without a subject?

I believe I've worked it out.
I was trying to read subjects of headers.
I'm adapting from Agent to Pan.

I wish Forte would port Agent to Linux. Pan is pretty good, but I still
miss Agent (but not enough to boot into Windows just to read newsgroups).

FYI, it works very well on Ubuntu, via Wine.
I tried this for a few days and no problems :-) (the latest full trial)

I wish that my "MesNews" would work on Linux...but it does'nt :-(
That's the reason why i'm still on Win (for Usenet only, :-) ,
    sometimes.)

I will take it, that since you are a Linux user that this was not a
    troll ;)

slrn is a CLI based newsreader that is based on s-lang. It is insanely
flexible and configurable. While it is not designed for binary use,
with a patch or 2 and macro it is quite capable in that respect as well.
