An article in the Google archives of this newsgroup suggest loading oss497c
    for this type of panic.

If you are running token ring, you may want to look at:

What version of Compaq EFS are you running?

I have seen this error with ProLiant servers using a network card
based on the TI ThunderLan chipset, particularly if the network
connection is unplugged or if the hub is powered off for a moment.

If you have a Compaq NC3123 network card, or an Intel PRO/100 series
server card then disable or remove the existing network card and
reconfigure your system ( using netconfig ) to use the new card.

I am not sure, but some of the routines on the stack when you had
a panic, such as llc, sound like they may be in the network stack.
