Default Paper Capture recognition service experienced an error (15000)

Trying to convert a pre-scanned pdf (from JStor and other online materials) into OCR in order to be able to highlight it, each time I get this error message whenever I convert the whole document; page by page is fine.

I trashed the prefs, but the problem persists. DOes anyone have a clue how to get this to work?

Apparently others elsewhere have not had the same problem, so there must be some other trigger in my set up.

    Many thanks,

Default Re: Paper Capture recognition service experienced an error (15000)

I seemed to get that same error on a .tiff file that was scanned. Once I bumped the scanned resolution down to 300 ppi it was fine.

I don't know that this will help that much, but I thought I'd add my $.02.
