paragraph styles not working

I'm new to ID2 and It's probably operator error but I can't seem to get the paragraph styles to work. I set up a text box and it isn't responding to the styles using a font that I set up in the paragraph styles. Is there some to way to reset to a default or something

You probably have local styling applied to that text. Hold down Option while clicking on the style name to eliminate local formatting in the paragraph; hold down Option+Shift to eliminate all local formatting and any application of character styles within the paragraph.

Thanks, Dave. I knew about Clear Overrides, but it was grayed out. Option-Shift-click solved the problem and saved my sanity.
