You can save the file to your server and then perform normal ADO operations
on it, as Excel is a supported datasource of the Jet provider.

You can grab your Excel connection string here:
    http://www.connectionstrings.com/

As far as the entire process you're looking to do, just do it one segment at
a time. If you get stuck on one part of it, post here. It's much easier to
give help with going from point A to point B as opposed to trying to go from
    point A to point Z.

    Ray,
    Thanks for your suggestions.

Now here is the thing--i am acessing the excel files over the internet and
i need to do it everyday. Initially i thought of making my ASP script run
    everyday midnight or Early morning.

Because of this repetitive process...i thought of parsing the excel file
and updating the data to the database everytime the scripts runs...

Do you think it would be better to store the file then to p for such a
repetitive process?? If so...could you please provide me any sample code
to save the excel file to the harddrive and then access data using ADO.

Is it done using two scripts or single script...I am little confused...

    Any suggestions

    Thanks
