Parts of Illustrator file missing from PDF file

My vendor sent me a "Press Quality" PDF file for review (created from a Quark layout using Acrobat Distiller).

Everything looks fine on screen with the exception of an Illustrator logo being used in the layout.

The logo has one curved shape defined as PMS187 and another curve and type defined as 100% white placed on a 100% black background. The type has been outlined.

When I print the PDF file out to an HP Color LaserJet 8550. Everything prints correctly but the logo. Both curved shapes appear but not the white type.

When I select the logo in the PDF file and do the Edit Object option, all the elements do appear in the Illustrator file.

The strange thing is I then tried printing the same PDF file to an HP LaserJet 5000 (monochrome) and everything does print fine including the mising type from the logo.

Any ideas why the white type in the logo will not show up on the printout off the HP Color LaserJet?

What version of Adobe Acrobat are YOU using?

Acrobat 6 Professional

Go ADVANCED and OVERPRINT PREVIEW (ensure it has a TICK) ... This will
now demonstrate what to expect from the file ...

If you wish to produce an accurate print - go PRINT / ADVANCED /
SIMULATE OVERPRINT (turn it ON) ....
