Passing additional variable through PayPals IPN
1. I am setting up a subscription for artists on my site and was wondering
whether I can pass my own variables through the PayPal button form by adding
hidden feilds. (artistid and memberhipid)
2. If this is the case will these fields be included in the fields posted to
my server via IPN?

Yes, you can pass through your own vars.
But, it's been a long time since I needed to (so I can't remmember), so you
will have to read the paypal docs to find out how. If you go to the developer
section there is a doc that lists all the form fields that can be passed
through.
