Pasteboard too tall (ID CS - WinXP)
Something weird just happened and I'm not sure how. I just opened my ID document and somehow the pasteboard got really tall. This is a 44 page document, so when I put the document down to a 25% view, I can only see 2 page spreads (4 pages). This doesn't help me at all. When I go to Edit > Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard, the value in the Minimum Vertical Offset is 1 inch. That is the same for all my documents and the pasteboard isn't that tall anywhere else. (This seems to be how I can make the Pasteboard taller, but not how I can make it shorter.) My pasteboad is 30 inches tall, which is just way out of line. Any ideas as to how this happened and how I can fix it?
TIA,
Nancy

Re: Pasteboard too tall (ID CS - WinXP)
I solved that once by changing the orientation. Switch from portrait to
landscape, then back to portrait. Any items on your pages will resume their
original positions. Items which get dumped on the pasteboard when you change
orientation may not.

Re: Pasteboard too tall (ID CS - WinXP)
You can also solve the problem by exporting to inx format and then opening that. This also purges the document of any dead weight.
The only known problem is that spread-wide guides on master pages will be on the left page only in the re-opened document. That's not to say there aren't any other problems, but nobody has reported any yet.

Re: Pasteboard too tall (ID CS - WinXP)
Thanks for the help. Just to let you know, I tried changing the orientation as suggested, but it was messing up my layout on several of the pages. What did work for me though, was turning off the "Facing Pages" in the Document setup and then turning it back on.
Nancy
P.S. I don't know what 'inx format' is.
