Default Patches for version 2.0.xx series kernels, and the 2.4.20

    Hello from Doctor Who
Any suggestions for applying the patch that was made for the 2.0.xx
series kernel to the source code for 2.4.20? Getting a new one, is out of the
    question.

Without hesitation, Gregg C Levine asserted (on or about 07/21/03 21:28)

    Yes. Don't.

If "getting a new one" means "getting a new patch" or "getting a new
kernel", then you're out of luck. A patch for the 2.0 kernel tree is very
unlikely to apply properly (if at all) to the 2.4.20 kernel source. There
were some massive changes moving from the 2.0 to 2.2 kernels and even more
    massive changes moving from 2.2 to 2.4. A patch for a 2.0 kernel wouldn't
stand much of a chance finding the proper files, let alone the proper lines
    in the proper files.
