After converting text to paths, is it possible in FH9 to unconvert it after
it has been saved so undo won't work

Undo doesn't work? I often save a copy with paths converted to paths and
then immediately undo to keep text as text. Does this not work for you?

Or do you mean coming back to a file after it has been closed? No way to
    recover text at that point.

Thanks Wes, yes I meant coming back to it after it is closed.

Too late now, but ALWAYS save your text in its own layer so you can come
back to it and make edits. Otherwise, you're up the proverbial creek.
