Default PC won't boot up if printer is already on

I have a new Dell PC that won't boot up if my HP printer
is already on I just get a blank screen. If the printer
is off, it boots up fine. Any ideas??? Thanks.

What indication, error or otherwise, do you get when the printer is on?

Yes it is a USB printer and it does have slots to read
picture cards (i.e. sony memory stick, flash card, etc) so
it sounds like that may very well be the issue!

    Thanks for the info!
